Celebrate International Women’s Day as WOW North East returns for an unmissable afternoon of local stories, inspiring interviews and (many) reasons to be hopeful.

This special event launches The Hope Brigade North East, a new photography exhibition featuring work by Joanne Coates, created in partnership with S&DR200. It celebrates the many extraordinary – often unsung – women and non-binary people working in our local communities to improve people’s lives.

Hosted by WOW Founder Director Jude Kelly, the afternoon will introduce you to some of these incredible people's stories, in conversation with the people who inspire them. They’ll explore what brings them hope in a world where the news often feels relentless.

You’ll hear from some of The Hope Brigade including Ann Ming and Susan Mansaray, alongside performances by Kate Fox and the Girls, Theys and Slays choir. Plus more special guests to be announced!
