Amelia Clegg

Working for Blossom as a youth leader, Amelia leads Young Buds, a project dedicated to helping young girls connect, build friendships, and grow in confidence. Each session creates a welcoming space where girls can explore creative arts, learn self-defence skills, and take part in various activities. 
In the time Amelia has led Young Buds, she has witnessed the girls find their voices, strengthen their sense of identity, and their confidence and friendships bloom week by week. Amelia finds it extremely rewarding to see the impacts and have the opportunity to nurture the girls potential in her local community.

Alongside Young Buds, Amelia also supports the self-defence courses that Blossom delivers across West Yorkshire. Witnessing women discover strength they did not know they possessed is both powerful and inspiring. Amelia has seen first-hand the real-life impact of this work, as participants walk taller and speak with renewed assurance.

Amelia particularly enjoys putting her creative skills to action, most recently as a banner-making workshop leader for Reclaim the Night Wakefield. Amelia has grown in her own confidence, throwing herself forward with courage as a vocal lead and embracing the strength of collective action.
