Amina Katana
(she/her)Young Leader 2026
After travelling to 60+ countries, mostly solo, Amina felt driven to create Indy Odyssey, a travel platform that caters to women from diverse backgrounds. After years of witnessing the lack of equity in tourism, it became clear that feminist travel should also uplift women working in tourism.
Being British-Pakistani and understanding how marginalisation affects young women's aspirations and limits their mobility. So she was motivated to connect underrepresented audiences with incredible local guides, hoping to work toward a fairer, more inspiring travel industry.
Indy Odyssey embodies ethical, decolonial travel, enabling more people to experience the world and have life-changing experiences while contributing to local economies.
Through her MSc in Global Development at SOAS, she is researching how tourism can benefit indigenous and rural women and is creating an all-women feminist tour of Uzbekistan this autumn!
