Jenny Nguyen

Vietnamese British, born and BLOODY BRED!

Her perception of this world has been heavily shaped by her parents: two immigrants that she loves dearly but had to maintain the “survival mentality” to endure living in a completely new environment from Vietnam – LONDON.

Her name is Jenny Nguyen, and she can confidently say that Sociology has changed her perspective in life completely; including what opportunities she realistically has access to and understanding broadly what cards she’s been dealt with ever since she’s been conceived into this world.

Since, she’s been plotting to discover new opportunities to help herself grow and break that cycle of “survival” into social change! Jenny has been extremely grateful to gain these experiences. One that piqued her interest within wealth inequality has been her ThinkTank placement in Resolution Foundation, where she explored how poverty affects different social groups within the UK.

Recently, her realisation was that she wanted to be more present in an environment where she could tap into volunteer and campaigning work locally! The Advocacy Academy is an organisation where she could develop her skills of mobilising collectively – for a super important campaign that she is currently developing alongside many: TAXXING THE RICH!
