Olivia Brown
(she/her)Young Leader 2026
Olivia is a Spanish and Politics student and anti-fast fashion advocate. After quitting fast fashion at the age of 17, she joined the Scottish Youth Parliament where she sat on the board for three years and became Vice Chair. During this time, she held strategic oversight of their events, policy and campaigns, including one on sustainable fashion. Among many highlights, she has interviewed the First Minister, featured on BBC Disclosure, given lectures and provided evidence to the Scottish Select Committee – all before the age of 21!
Olivia was also a trustee of Project Sonrisa and worked as an Administrations and Communications Officer for Susan Murray MP where her responsibilities included managing social media and youth engagement.
This year, she has given up these roles to move to Seville where she is completing her year abroad. Not only is she gaining fluency in Spanish, but she is experiencing how a different country approaches issues such as climate change and sustainability. This learning has been complemented by trips to Budapest with the Council of Europe and Berlin with the German Government to meet with youth activists around the world.
She also has a keen interest in international development and education reform.
