Shareefa Energyy

Shareefa Energy is a working-class Indian award winning poet, writer, producer, storyteller, activist, educator, community organiser and anti-racism creative campaigner, based in Leicester and London. She is the author of the poetry collection Galaxy Walk, endorsed by the late Benjamin Zephaniah. Her poetry featured on BBC The One Show, Channel 4 and ITV. Shareefa performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Southbank Centre, the Flamenco Festival and the Cascadoo Festival in Trinidad. She does bespoke poetry bookings to boost campaigns and corporate bespoke bookings. She opened up the general assembly conference for Lufthansa City Center in Malta in November 2025 and The G15 Ethnicity in Housing 2025 Awards. She's collaborated with filmmakers, musicians, scientists, Flamenco dancers, creating impactful poetry. She's facilitated poetry and music projects with young people internationally, including at The Roundhouse, Brixton Youth Theatre, for The WOW Foundation. Shareefa performed and facilitated workshops with schools, universities, in prisons and immigration detention centres, with survivors of domestic violence and those impacted by state violence. She was artist in residence in North Kensington Library in 2018/2019. She's facilitated various projects to support the self esteem of women and girls and advocates for empowering migrant women.
