Join WOW Founder Jude Kelly and guests on International Women’s Day to talk joy, resilience and making change happen.
What changes do you want to see and how are you going about making them?
Jude asks this question to special guests who are making the world better - and have been inspired by the WOW movement, too. They join Jude on International Women’s Day to discuss the joys, challenges, and ups and downs of making change happen, celebrating how far we’ve come, and supporting all that is left to be achieved.
Guests include Women’s Equality Party Founder Catherine Mayer and WEP leader Mandu Reid, WOW Australia Executive Producer Cathy Hunt, former Chief Prosecutor Nazir Afzal and more, plus a special new film from Indonesian girl band Voice of Baceprot.
We know you’re making the world better too, and on IWD let’s spend some time together to swap stories, battlescars and triumphs.
This event is a live Zoom Webinar led by Jude. There’ll be lots of time for conversation and to ask questions at the end.
This event will have BSL interpretation and live captioning.
This event launches WOW Changemakers - a global network of people who believe a gender equal world is possible, desirable, and better for everyone. Through this network we are enabling new conversations, strengthening initiatives and creating communities of diverse people; building visible, vocal and active allies in the drive towards a gender equal world.
We want to change the nature of where conversations about gender happen.
We want to identify, shout about and help remove barriers which prevent women and girls from achieving their full potential
We want to share language and tools to build a gender equal world.
We want to do this with you, together, whilst celebrating where we are now
To this end, so far, more than 100 WOW festivals and events have taken place in over 30 locations on six Continents. Find out more about The WOW Foundation here.
This event is part of WOW UK Festival 2022, our week-long digital programme of groundbreaking In Conversations and interactive workshops.
For this year’s festival, we are offering audiences the chance to pay what they can, with tickets for events starting from £1. If you’re able to pay a higher ticket price, your contribution will include a donation to help WOW continue its work fighting for gender equality all year-round.
WOW London’s in person festival takes place at Southbank Centre from 11-13 March. Check out the line-up here.
