This online exhibition by Sadiksha Chaudhary will tell the history of Kamlari, a system of indentured child servitude in Nepal where young girls from the indigenous Tharu community were sent away by their families to work as domestic servants for wealthy elite households.
Through photography, audio recordings from the women and girls themselves and archive material, Sadiksha tells the stories of lives shaped by differing circumstances, choices, losses, and possibilities and asks what hapens to a life after freedom?
This event is part of a series of events on WOW 365 brought to you by curators from South Asia.
