WOW Rio Warm-Up: Environmental Change and Gender

The first WOW Rio Warm-Up will be a full-day event bringing together favela-based communities, local groups and partners in Maré to explore the intersection between environmental change and gender. Led by Redes da Maré, the programme will combine workshops, performances, talks and facilitated discussions around the theme, creating different spaces for community participation, dialogue and creative exchange. The day will explore how environmental challenges are experienced through gender and how community knowledge, cultural practice and collective action can contribute to imagining responses to these interconnected issues.
