Charlie Marshall

(she/her)Head of Communications & Marketing
Four women smiling and posing closely together, wearing yellow lanyards, in a room with a neutral background. The mood is friendly and joyful.

Charlie has 20 years’ experience working across the arts and culture sector, and is a huge believer in the power of collective arts-led experiences to create real change. At WOW, she leads the organisation’s communications and marketing strategy, building its global reputation as a joyful, creative movement championing gender equality through arts-driven activism. She manages everything from press and publicity to brand development to tell WOW’s story to as wide an audience as possible.

Since joining WOW in 2019, Charlie's favourite WOW moments have included eating pizza backstage with Angela Davis, working to devise the first ever Shameless! Festival of Activism Against Sexual Violence and travelling to Brazil for WOW Rio.

Charlie's career is rooted in her passion for storytelling, and creating inclusive, accessible and joyful platforms for often untold stories. Before joining WOW, she worked at theatre companies Cardboard Citizens and Society of London Theatre, and led-communications for place-led cultural projects including the first ever London Borough of Culture.
