Chham Kumari Gurung
(she/her)
Chham Kumari Gurung is a nature-based therapist practising from Kathmandu, Nepal, offering sessions in forest settings, in her office, and online. Trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, she weaves clinical rigour with the deeper textures of lived human experience — her own included. She has had quite the life!
Her approach draws from the deep well of Eastern philosophy, the quiet wisdom of poetry, and the healing lightness of humour. She believes that insight does not always arrive through analysis alone — sometimes it comes through birdsong, a verse that stops you mid-breath, or the gentle absurdity of being human.
Chham Kumari works with the understanding that we are not separate from nature — we are nature. Whether sitting beneath the trees or connecting across a screen, she creates a space where people can slow down, make meaning, and find their way back to themselves.
When she is not working, she is often found to be reading, having intense conversations with her friends, daughters and sisters. She delights in watching birds form mandalas in the sky on a clear day and photography. She remains curious about the world at large and names learning as one of her most important needs.
