Eleni Riga is visual arts curator, cultural producer, researcher, and writer. She engages with artistic practices that highlight interconnected issues of ecologies and feminisms.
Since 2022, she has been developing the Office of Hydrocommons, a curatorial program dedicated to the politics of water and the body, in collaboration with ATOPOS cvc. She has curated exhibitions internationally at institutions such as BO (The Association of Visual Artists Oslo), Oslo, and Friart, Fribourg. She also collaborates with the gallery Callirrhoë and the art association Core in Athens. In the past, she has worked at the Department of Education at MoMA (New York), directed the Contemporary Art Department of Eleusis 2023 – European Capital of Culture, and served as assistant curator for documenta 14 in Athens and Kassel.
She is a graduate of the Department of Communication, Media and Culture at Panteion University, holds a Master’s degree in Exhibition Sciences and Techniques from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris), and is also a graduate of the CuratorLab program at Konstfack – University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Stockholm).
She has participated in residency programs such as GENERATOR–40mcube (Rennes), Onassis AiR (Athens), the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation (Agios Nikolaos), and ARCAthens (New York–Athens). She is a laureate of the Institut français x Cité internationale des arts program.
