From Blind Mountain to Little Fires Everywhere, all my roles revolved around the proposition of "being woman". Whether it's Xuemei Bai in the mountains or Bebe, a wandering Chinese immigrant mother in America, I can always see a kind of tenacious strength in the women characters I played. Their beauty is about resilience and giving voice. As an actress, I'm very lucky to meet them.
Lu Huang is an actress and producer. Her works include Blind Mountain, Massage and Dog Day. Huang is called the "Queen of Art Films", loved by European film festivals. She always dares to challenge complex and diverse roles, breaking through herself constantly. She is the only generation-Y actress from China who has starred in works selected by all three major international film festivals in Europe.
