In 2003, as a media advocate, I took the lead in introducing the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Prevention Campaign to China, hoping to change women's awareness of their body, health and the disease through public welfare campaigns. Over the past 18 years, we have witnessed that Chinese women have gone from being ashamed of talking about breasts and breast cancer, to increasingly accepting the concept of "early prevention, early detection and early treatment". A small pink ribbon carries the mission of increasing physical and mental health and growth of women. I hope Chinese women will be more confident, more self-aware and freer.
Yajun Sun is the Editor-in-Chief of Fashion Health magazine, Executive Publisher, and General Manager of Industry Media of Fashion Group, the leading fashion magazine publisher in China. She has been keen to paying attention the women’s reality since when she was a student. Through her work as a social journalist, later a fashion and lifestyle editor and publisher, she conveyed the concept of health through the media platform. She launched a series of public welfare activities such as the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Prevention Campaign in China, the Love Heart Red Dress Campaign, and the Anti-Depression Campaign to promote the trend of healthy life for Chinese women.
