Crystal Eye, Flowers, and Art Image
By Maisie-Cate, aged 13 from Moray in Scotland
Tell us about the artwork
The Crystal Eye (pictured) was made with me taking a selfie through a crystal ball. I like how abstract this image is.
I had the idea for Flowers as I thought the flowers would be a good contrast against my skin. Having only one eye on show and soft focus adds a bit of drama, which I like.
Art Image was another photograph taken during a photography workshop and shows my portrait pad, which is where I do some drawing to help me relax. I was playing with filters and liked this image, just because I liked it.
What inspired you to make your artwork?
During the photography workshop we were tasked with experimenting with various objects, filters and media. I took loads of photographs but these are the ones I liked best.
What action would you like people to take to make the world better for girls and non-binary young people today?
Just be yourself.
