To mark International Women’s Day, join us for WOW UK Festival 2021, a three-week festival taking place online across March (just one of many WOW Festivals taking place across the world next month!). With events online every day from 1st to 21st of March, you can join us and watch from all over the world.
Over three weeks we’ll explore everything from mental health to sex in lockdown, radical childcare to #SayHerName, and being everything from a grandmother to an artist in a pandemic (or both!).
Responding to a year that’s been so tough on women, the programme will take a frank look at new obstacles women, girls and non-binary people now face, discussing creative solutions for change whilst celebrating amazing stories of resistance and progress.
The programme features In Conversation events and a range of workshops, including Kimberlé Crenshaw, Ruby Wax, Arundhati Roy, Sheila Heti, Avni Doshi, Bryony Kimmings and a whole range of new voices for a programme that will look after you, expand your mind - and maybe even teach you a new skill.
All In Conversations will be BLS Interpreted and captioned. To request BSL or captioning for a workshop, please book your place and email access@thewowfoundation.com to request by the 22nd February.
For this year’s festival, we are offering audiences the chance to pay what they can for tickets from £1 upwards. If you’re able to pay a higher ticket price, your contribution will include a donation to help WOW continue its work fighting for gender equality all year-round.
If you want to book to watch all the In Conversations, you can book a WOW UK 2021 Festival Talks Pass for just £25 (or £100 if you'd like to support WOW's work year-round). Visit our Ticketco Festival page to book all events.
In August 2020, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned that “Without a concerned response, we risk losing a generation or more of gains towards gender equality”. We have responded to this with a programme that is the most global, digital, urgent and optimistic WOW yet.
We hope you can join us.
The WOW Foundation is proudly supported by its Global Founding Partner Bloomberg, who are the festival's headline partner, and Global Partner MasterCard. WOW UK Festival 2021 is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
WOW Festivals and events are presented by arrangement with Southbank Centre.
